CROSS TRAINING IS KEY TO INCREASED EARNING POTENTIAL

The Valparaiso Campus offers a full and part time cosmetology, manicure and instructors program.   Additionally it offers a vocational program that affords licensure and high school graduation at the same time, thus allowing the graduate to immediately be employed upon high school graduation. Many of our vocational graduates use their cosmetology skills to help them with their future college expenses.

The Valparaiso Campus is a campus that strives to allow each student to identify and develop their own strengths and skills within the cosmetology and manicuring fields. Many of the students excel in their hair coloring and designing skills. These talents have been used by many that have benefited from very successful careers.

The instructors program is unique in its curriculum, experiences and length. Janet Stemmer, CEO, COO and President uses her 50 years of classroom experience to mentor those in this program. Her belief is that a school and its students are only as strong as its staff. She prides herself in the fact that all educators on staff have been mentored in the hands on DR principles of education.

The Don Roberts Beauty School has a central goal that is to offer an education experience that provides its graduates with the skills that will deliver the highest quality of professional services to their clients.

The DR Beauty Schools are schools that have been in the business of quality education since 1961 and continue to be the leader in cosmetology education in Northwest Indiana.

Annual reviews of our student populations determine that 93% of the students work outside of their home while in school. Many are successfully placed in the industry, at entry level positions/minimum wage, while in school.  After completion of school and licensing their job descriptions become more suited to their skills/wage increases.
